Dahr is back...

Just a quick note to let you all know (those who still visit this blog!) that Dahr Jamail is back in Iraq. He has been there twice since the invasion of the country and has kept a fantastic blog of the events he has witnessed. I urge all those who are keeping an eye on what's happening in Iraq to visit this blog at http://dahrjamailiraq.com/weblog/ . I feel it's something vital and doesn't come near to the shit that is heard on the "news" each night.

I'm currently John Pilger's new book Tell Me No Lies. The book focuses on major pieces of investigative journalism and how they have shunned the bounds of government censorship in times of war and other restrictions. Journalists from WWII to Vietnam and beyond. It's inspiring how such people put themselves in harms way to show the world what is really happening... the reality of death on both sides of the fence. In my opinion there needs to be more of it, more journalists willing to uphold the real purpose of informing the world rather than being mouthpieces of government.

Take care all & stay positive,
Danko.
