The morning after QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE...
Wrote a review up here last night but my connection didn't send it through to the blog, so here we go again ;)
F***CKING awesome show! It was the best show of the last 12 months besides the Pearl Jam mini-tour in February... QOTSA rocked Festival Hall to a preverbial atmosphere of flying particles erupting from our bodies. Heaps of highlights... Nick Oliveri (bass player) came out on stage first wearing a very becoming black skimpy dress with fishnet socks and a sexy long blonde wig!... straight into Feel Good Hit Of The Summer! Awwweees-homme... And yes Josh Homme was on fire throughout the night with his hovering vocals as well as playing some inspiring, intermission-like jams with the band.. dammit I just wanted to pick up my guitar! They played every one of my favourites except First It Giveth (I really wanted to hear Mark Lanegan on this track)... speaking of the screaming tree... somehow I was surprised to see him come up on stage! Mark Lanegan is one of the best musicians to come out of Seattle, considering his former band The Screaming Trees as well as his couple solo albums.
My cousin Dalal and I were right up on the barrier but to the right of stage just rocking out and singing... fantastic night, and QUEENS, you damn well rock!
On a closing note, The Distillers were some rockin' balls... the lead singer was HOT, oh yeah.

In other news I think Howard Zinn has announced his entry into the 2004 U.S Presidential race. I hope he gets some publicity as I think he is someone who can really turn things around not just for the U.S.A but this whole planet.
